Smoking
Smoking is the single most important health risk
you can change.
Risk
We all know that smoking is bad for us. We have all heard about the increased
risk of:
-
heart disease,
-
stroke,
-
high blood pressure,
-
emphysema,
-
chronic bronchitis,
-
lung cancer.
But did you know that about half of all regular smokers will eventually be
killed by their habit? And of course there are all the “minor” hassles
associated with smoking like:
-
bad breath,
-
poor dental hygiene
-
premature skin aging.
And what about the effects of passive smoking on our children and others
around us? Children of parents who smoke are more likely to have:
-
a chronic cough,
-
worse asthma,
-
more frequent chest infections,
-
an infant die of cot death.
